One of the goals of the World Congresses of Scientific Youth is to encourage the interaction and dialogue between students and scientists. Therefore the congress has programmed the following activities:

• Roundtable discussions
• Plenary sessions
• Simultaneous symposiums/ forums
• Poster presentations
• Open dialogues between youth (15- 18 years old) and scientists/speakers

Researchers/Investigators, scientists, professionals, post- graduate students, and undergraduate students of all ages are invited to submit research papers relevant to the themes of the congress.

   
  GUIDELINES TO SUBMIT SUMMARIES

Please complete the summary of your presentation following the format that is presented bellow. If the format is still unclear, for your convenience we have provided an example of a summary format.

CENTERED TITLE ALL IN BOLD AND CAPITAL LETTERS (ARIAL FONT 12)
Name(s) of Author(s) (Arial font 11, centered)
Institution that you are representing if it were the case (Arial font 11, centered)
Mailing address, e-mail* (Arial font 11, centered)
Subject Matter (Arial font 10, centered)
Key Words: Three to Four words written in italics (Arial font 10, centered)

Summary

The structure of the summary MUST include: a presentation of the subject matter, a problem or question concerning investigation/research, objectives, methodology, results and conclusions.

A maximum of 3 authors can be cited in the summary. This should be accompanied by a reference list at the end of the text under the title ‘References’.

The content of the summary is the responsibility of the author(s).

IMPORTANT: The summary should NOT extend to more that one page, including the reference list (if one was incorporated). It also is required that a résumé (Curriculum Vitae) be sent in the form of an essay. This essay should not exceed one page and should be written in Arial font 12.

PLEASE NOTE: The summary must meet the above mentioned requirements in order to be accepted by the Scientific Committee’s office.

  REVISION OF SUMMARIES AND DELIVERY OF ACCEPTANCE LETTERS

The International Scientific Committee will confirm that they have received these summaries. Only those summaries that meet the stated requirements will be accepted and sent to the Evaluative Scientific Commission, which will review these summaries and make the necessary recommendations. These recommendations will be in accordance with the criteria determined by the International Scientific Committee. The Director of the Committee will then respond to the author(s) in one of 3 ways:

1. Acceptance of the summary as is
2. Acceptance of the summary with remarks
3. Non- acceptance of the summary

   
  SENDING CORRECTED SUMMARIES

Accepted summaries with remarks should be corrected and resent as soon as possible.
Please send a recent photograph (larger than 300 dpi, appropriate for the Congress’ memoirs).

Deadline for the photograph and the corrected summary:

  GUIDELINES TO SEND UNABRIDGED WORK

The unabridged work will be published in digital format and be included in the digital Memoirs of the 6th Congress. These Memoirs will be distributed at the end of the 6th Congress in the form of a CD. Please follow the instructions below regarding the unabridged work, so that it can be included within the Digital Memoirs. For your convenience we have provided an example of the unabridged work format.

The page format should be A4. The top, bottom and right margins should be 2 cm (0.8 in.), and the left margin should be 2.5 cm (1 in.). The text should as well be in Garamond font.
Word processor:  Microsoft Word
Lists and Tables: Microsoft Excel
Graphs, charts and Pictures: JPEG format

The page limit varies for each submitted work:

  • 9 pages for plenary sessions
  • 7 pages for simultaneous conferences
  • 5 pages for oral presentations/lectures and
  • 3 pages for selected posters

The acceptance of an unabridged work does not necessarily mean that it will be published in the memoirs of paper format due to space and cost.

You must fill out a publication form in order to have your work published in one or all of the editions foreseen by the International Federation of Scientific Societies. A publication form will be distributed to all speakers. Have your forms ready to hand in (filled out and signed) when you arrive to the 6th World Congress.

  POSTER GUIDELINES

The poster should have a length of 120cm (47.2 in.) and a width of 90 cm (35.4 in.).
